Two Museums, One Destination

The Museum of Art and Archaeology and the Museum of Anthropology are both located on Lowry Mall, offering visitors the opportunity to explore art, archaeology, culture and human history all in one visit. The Museum of Anthropology and Museum of Art & Archaeology are both located on the ground floor of Ellis Library’s east wing. Enter from Lowry Mall, Hitt Street, or from within Ellis Library.

Museum of Anthropology

The Museum of Anthropology (MoA) serves the research and teaching needs of the University of Missouri, provides exhibitions and programs for the general public, and serves as an archaeological curation facility for the state of Missouri.

Museum of Art and Archaeology

The Museum of Art and Archaeology preserves, researches, interprets, and shares art and artifacts with students, scholars, and the broader community to advance collective understanding of and respect for diverse artistic and cultural heritages.

Bingham Gallery

The Bingham Gallery is an exhibition space and living laboratory for contemporary art practice and interpretation. Central to the interdisciplinary curriculum of the School of Visual Studies, the gallery provides a platform for critical thinking across media, disciplines, cultures, and contexts.

Missouri Historic Costume and Textile Collection

The Missouri Historic Costume and Textile Collection collects and preserves clothing and textiles of historic and artistic value for purposes of teaching, research and exhibition.
