Sing Democracy 250: Redeem The Dream

Join the University Symphony, Choral Union, and all University of Missouri Choirs for an inspiring evening of music and reflection as part of the national Sing Democracy 250 initiative, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

The program features the University of Missouri premiere of Redeem the Dream, a powerful new work by Dr. Brandon A. Boyd, Director of Choral Activities, based on Langston Hughes’ Let America Be America Again, alongside US, a compelling choral work inspired by Richard Haass’ The Bill of Obligations.

Together, these works invite audiences to reflect on America’s past and embrace the responsibilities of citizenship, including the nation’s ideals of freedom, equality, and opportunity for all.
