Our story

University Concert Series

Our History

The University Concert Series was founded by the Zeta chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity in 1908. Their goal was to bring prestigious performers of the day to Mizzou.
Through most of the 20th century, the series presented classical music, opera, theatre and ballet. In the early 1990s, it broadened to include more contemporary artists. Outreach efforts also expanded to serve communities beyond campus.
Today, the University Concert Series is part of Mizzou Arts in the College of Arts and Science. Mizzou Arts brings a range of experiences to the community, hosting external acts and touring shows as well as presenting faculty and student creativity in the arts, music, and theatre.
